Arden Hills Bathroom Remodel: Combining Two Outdated Bathrooms Into a Modern Primary Suite

This Arden Hills bathroom remodel started with two small, outdated bathrooms from the 1950s that no longer fit the homeowners’ needs. Our goal was to combine the existing full bath and 3/4 bath into one larger, modern primary bathroom while also creating a separate powder room for guests.

The project required a complete gut renovation and major structural changes. We removed walls between the bathrooms, eliminated the hallway linen closet, and reworked the bedroom entry to create a more functional layout with significantly more usable space. During demolition, we uncovered old tile set in a thick cement base, making teardown especially labor-intensive, along with some floor damage around the toilet areas that needed repair before rebuilding could begin.

Once demo was complete, the space was reframed to accommodate updated plumbing, electrical, lighting, and ventilation. The new layout allowed for a spacious walk-in shower, a freestanding soaking tub with a floor-mounted faucet, custom vanities, and modern tile throughout the space.

The finished remodel completely transformed the home, replacing two cramped bathrooms with a bright, open primary suite and an updated guest powder room designed for both comfort and functionality.
